We are a non-governmental and non-profit educational initiative organization incorporated in Nigeria and dedicated to inspire the next generation of Nigerians and Africans alike in order to use their talents to solve the issues around them for the benefit of our society and contribute to a better world through exposure to basic science and technology.

Our Mission

To provide thousands of youth the opportunity to explore their curiosity and creativity through our artifact rich exhibits featuring marine and land transportation, astronomy, communications, space, domestic technology and computer technology, innovative educational programming, state-of-the-art planetarium, computer laboratory, and thematic special events. To inspire by making our exhibits, collections, and content accessible to all of our audience through informal, hands-on/minds-on experiences.

Meet the Team

John Popoolapade

The JOHN Science & Technology Exposition Center was founded by John Popoolapade after years of interaction at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, where he met notable figures like Dr. Mae Jemison, the first African-American in space. A co-inventor of three US patents, John has worked with major high-tech companies and received numerous service awards. His lifelong goal is to inspire young people to address environmental issues and improve the world.

Michael Olapade

Holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ilorin and has over three decades of experience with John SciTEC. He has attended the USA Science and Engineering Festivals, gaining valuable hands-on STEM experiences. Currently, he is the Chairman/Group Managing Director of The Michael Group (Enerx Limited, Hectagon Energies Limited, & Gasworth Limited).

Treasures Uchegbu

is a development consultant and inclusion champion focused on disability productivity and sign language. As CEO of SpeakingFingers Network, she inspires young Africans through programs like LifeWorkReady and Deaf Teens Summer Camp.

Osaze Omigie

is the Managing Director of Kariz & Sazii Group, specializing in Media, Advertising, and Marketing. He has consulted for major brands like Cummins West Africa and Bi-Courtney Aviation Services, known for his attention to detail.

Jamal Conteh

is a leader in Sierra Leone’s business and tech sectors, serving as Executive Director of Hot Biz Business Radio and Obba Tech Hub. He supports startups and inspires young innovators, helping to shape a brighter future for the country.
